Seahawks safety Jamal Adams ruled out for Week 1, Pete Carroll says

Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams is ruled out for Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams, coach Pete Carroll said during a radio appearance Friday. Here’s what you need to know:
Adams, 27, suffered a torn quadricep tendon in the first game of last season and underwent surgery.
The Seahawks activated Adams off the PUP list on Aug. 24, which indicated the team expected him to miss fewer than four games.
Carroll said Friday that the team is “not going to push him” to rush back. Adams has yet to practice since being activated from the PUP list, only taking part in walk-throughs.
