Saints' Jordan: 'I expect to take Derek Carr' back to Vegas for Super Bowl

New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan has his eyes set on the Lombardi Trophy this season.

“I expect a Super Bowl,” Jordan said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “I expect to take Derek Carr, DC4, back to Vegas where he just left and have a return run at the Super Bowl.”

The Super Bowl will be held in Las Vegas, where Saints quarterback Derek Carr spent the first nine years of his career. New Orleans signed Carr to a four-year, $150-million contract in March to be its new franchise quarterback.

The Saints struggled to find average play at the quarterback position after Drew Brees retired in 2021. Five players started a game for New Orleans over the last two seasons, compiling a 16-18 record with no playoff appearances.

Jordan is hoping Carr can fix the quarterback woes.

“Nobody has ever walked into a season (and) been like, ‘Ooh, I hope we win 10 games,'” Jordan said, per SiriusXM NFL Radio. “No, I’m trying to win each and every game that we play. My expectation is being 21-0, 22-0, whatever it takes to get to a Super Bowl. I want to beat each and every team we line across.”

The 33-year-old Jordan is entering the twilight of his career but is still putting up consistent production. He has double-digit sacks in four of his last six seasons and earned his eighth Pro Bowl selection in 2022.

Jordan has 639 tackles and 115.5 sacks in 192 career games.
