Report: Saquon expected to miss 3 weeks with ankle sprain

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley sprained his ankle in Sunday’s 31-28 win over the Arizona Cardinals and is expected to be sidelined for three weeks, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Barkley suffered the injury in the final seconds of the contest while being tackled during a run. He was unable to put weight on his right leg while being helped off the field. The 26-year-old’s postgame X-rays came back negative. An MRI on Monday showed Barkley only sustained an “ordinary” sprain, Schefter adds.
Barkley’s injury is a big blow to the Giants’ offense, which hasn’t looked great two games into the season. New York lost its season opener to the Dallas Cowboys 40-0 and didn’t score its first points until the third quarter versus Arizona in Week 2.
