Patriots waive James Robinson after signing running back during offseason

The New England Patriots waived running back James Robinson on Monday, the team announced. Here’s what you need to know:
New England signed Robinson to a two-year, $4 million deal this offseason.
The contract only contained $150,000 in guaranteed money.
Robinson spent last season with the Jaguars and Jets after a midseason trade.
The former undrafted rookie out of Illinois State rushed for 1,070 yards during his rookie season in 2020. He followed that with 767 yards and eight touchdowns in 2021 before suffering a torn Achilles at the end of that year.
