Jaguars sign Josh Pederson, son of coach Doug

The Jacksonville Jaguars are signing tight end Josh Pederson, the son of head coach Doug Pederson, the team announced Monday.

Pederson joins his dad after playing in the USFL for the Houston Gamblers this year. The 25-year-old caught 24 passes for 329 yards in 10 appearances with the Gamblers.

He went undrafted in 2021 following a four-season stint at Louisiana-Monroe. With the Warhawks, Pederson racked up 1,191 yards and 11 touchdowns on 99 receptions in four years. He’s since spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints, and Kansas City Chiefs but has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Jacksonville’s tight-end room is headlined by Evan Engram, who received the franchise tag this offseason after posting career highs with 73 catches and 766 yards in 2022. The team’s depth chart at the position also features second-round rookie
