Commanders’ Chase Young still not cleared for contact after preseason stinger

Washington Commanders defensive end Chase Young remains not cleared for contact after suffering a stinger in the preseason opener and is expected to meet with a doctor this week, according to multiple people briefed on the matter.
The 2020 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year is progressing nicely, according to a source, but it remains unclear if he will be available for Washington’s Week 1 home game against the Cardinals. Young has not participated in a full practice since the Aug. 11 game at Cleveland.
